Session Delivery Guidelines
These guidelines will ensure that things go smoothly and stay on schedule
Deliver audio as stereo .wav or .aif files at the bit depth and sample rate of the mix session.
Please remove any limiting from the mix (stereo bus compression + EQ are fine!), and make sure the mixes are not clipping.
Please send any alternate versions (instrumentals, radio edits, etc) at the same time as the main mixes.
Deliver sessions as OMF or AAF. Please remove all video files from OMF/AAF sessions, and send videos separately.
Please ensure that all audio files are .wav or .aif (not a mixture of both). Please convert all .mp3/.m4a files to .wav or .aif.
Please ensure that track content remains constant (e.g. if Dialogue 1 is the boom, please make sure it is always the boom).
Please send video files as ProRes, Motion JPEG, Photo JPEG, or Avid codecs. Please do not send videos as H264.
Please provide timecode burn-in on all video files, as well as embedded reference audio.
Provide a "2 Pop" (one-frame 1khz tone) exactly 2 seconds before the beginning of program, and 2 seconds after the end of program.
(Optional but helpful): Include a page of notes explaining your goals for the mix, any problem spots that need specific attention, or any other information you feel may be helpful.
Deliver sessions either as Pro Tools session files or as consolidated .wav files, and please include the key + tempo of the song.
Print all virtual instrument tracks to audio. Please also provide the source MIDI tracks for those virtual instruments.
Render any “creative” effects. Please also provide the non-effected version on an alternate playlist or a separate track.
Include a rough mix, with a general ballpark of intended tones, balances, and effects.
Ensure all tracks are clearly named (e.g. “rhythm guitar 1” rather than “audio 14”, or “backing vocal chorus” rather than “brian vocal 3”)
Remove any unwanted tracks from the session, and mute any unwanted regions.
Ensure that all edit points are clean and crossfaded.
(Optional but helpful): Include notes explaining your goals for the mix, any problem spots that need specific attention, or any other information that may be helpful.
